Red Partisan, the new journal produced by Consistent Democrats supporters and others in and around the Your Party project, has issue 2 out now.
The journal is not just focussed on Your Party, it aims to address major issues in the class struggle more generally. The front-page lead article is on the West European, including Britain’s. ruling class’s ludicrous but dangerous war drive against Russia which they intend to push even without US support. Massive rises in military spending are to be funded with cuts in social spending on the mass of the population based on the preposterous projection that Russia is going to attack Western Europe by 2030. These militarists are firing missiles into Russia and risking a major conflict, not the other way round. The article analyses the racism and irrationality of the ruling class warmongers and the reasons for that irrationality.
The current far-right upsurge and the reasons for it are featured on the back page. The reason for it is analysed as fundamentally that the working class in this country is completely politically unrepresented. The so-called Labour government is not a Labour government as previously known, but a disguised far-right regime funded by the Zionist movement that seems to have as its mission to bring a more overtly far right regime to power. It is not Labour in power, but rather Labour Together, a Zionist-funded secretive right-wing party whose purpose was to destroy the left social-democratic Labour leadership of Corbyn and squash any and all expressions of working-class politics in the party.
Other material in the journal deals with our involvement in the Anti-Fascist International and its British Chapter. The AFI is a bloc of anti-imperialist left-wing forces that was initiated by the Venezuelan government of Nicholas Maduro in 2024, long before Maduro’s kidnapping in January by Trump and the covert takeover of the Venezuelan government by the US. It campaigns against US imperialist aggression and its promotion of far-right politics in South America and around the globe. The future of the AFI is uncertain given what has happened to Venezuela, but it is currently a vehicle for anti-imperialist campaigns, discussion and united actions that may be able to go further.
We also have an analysis of the May elections, that obviously deals with the disaster for the Starmer regime in those elections, the expected victories of Reform and less-expected rise of the Green Party, partly as a result of the sabotage of Your Party. It is written partly from the standpoint of our comrades who were active participants in the Your Party election campaign in Thornton Heath, where Grassroots Left CEC member Mel Mullings got 7.7% of the vote, a campaign in which supporters of Red Partisan played a very active role working with other left-wing people, and the activist Croydon branch acted almost as a model of what could be achieved elsewhere with a policy of harnessing the energies of all genuine left-wing trends and non-exclusion.
The converse side of this is how the Members’ Charter in YP was tainted by the exclusion of a prominent supporter of the Liaison Committee for the Fourth International, and its British co-thinkers, the Consistent Democrats. The exclusion was simply for defending the agreed politics of the LCFI, in a WhatsApp group that belongs to the All-London Delegate Assembly of Your Party, an unofficial body that convenes regular assemblies of London delegates to discuss political and policy matters. The comrade was excluded for supposed ‘anti-semitism’ for defending our agreed position on Zionism. Our comrade committed no abusive behaviour in that discussion and was excluded without any kind of formal hearing or democratic procedure in a witchhunt initiated by the pro-imperialist ‘Anti-Capitalist Resistance’ whose awful, pro-imperialist record includes supporting the NATO invasion of Libya in 2011, backing the Maidan coup and NATO/Nazi proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, and more recently backed Trump’s failed Maidan-style colour revolution in Iran in January, just prior to the US-Israel attack. Our comrade was agent-baited by these pro-imperialist Ziophiles in a degenerate manner. Some of the political abuse thrown at him resembles that thrown at the Green Party leader Zack Polanski when by the Zionist press, when, since these events happened, ZP called for a database of British citizens and potential war criminals who have fought in the IDF during the post-2023 genocide.
There will be more on this shortly, but this issue contains material about this witchhunt, a statement of solidarity from our leading Brazilian co-thinker, and pointers to more extensive coverage, as well as a report of the Members Charter/Socialist Federation conference from our Posadist ally, comrade Marie.
All in all, this issue is relevant to many of the main issues the left has to deal with today, and offers a genuine communist vision and programmatic solutions.
